Leicester has a rich and varied collection of Public Artworks, only some of which are currently viewable here. Some are permanent and some are temporary so may not be available to visit any more. Click the images below or the links to the left to explore the artworks.
The Cultural Mapping programme is a Leicester City Council led partnership project to create 15 site specific artworks to mark entrances, significant sites and routes through Leicester.
Unfortunately, a number of the artworks have had to be removed due to vandalism, theft or for health and safety reasons. The artworks no longer in place are:
Pedestrian's Friend (comprising Far Seeing Telescopes, Picknicker's Friends and Waterloo Signs)
Information on these artworks have been left on the website above as an archive of the projects.
