School Architecture Workshops

The Story of Parks project collaborated with RIBA East Midlands on a workshop with a group of school pupils to learn about local architecture.

Taking inspiration from the work of Sir Edwin Lutyens, pupils from Sparkenhoe Community Primary School were tasked with designing their own ‘Modern Memorial’.

Local architects were on hand to teach the class the basic principles of architecture and to assist with the construction of their scale models.

A judging panel was assembled to decide the winners of ‘Best Model’ and ‘Best Design’, with the intention of building the overall winning design.
